What this tool does, and what it doesn't
- It extracts the text of your PDF and rebuilds it as editable paragraphs. It does not recreate the original layout, fonts, colours, images, tables or shapes, so expect to do some formatting in Word.
- Scanned PDFs are not supported. A scan is just a picture of each page. This tool has no OCR (text recognition), so it needs a PDF with selectable text. If you can highlight the text in your PDF viewer, it will work.
- Multi-column pages and table-like content may come out line by line, with gaps shown as tabs. Headers, footers and page numbers are included as ordinary text.
- Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Right-to-left languages and unusual fonts may not extract correctly.
